Babies everywhere! Calving season has started quickly this March. We are having lots of heifers born this year, which is very exciting! Lovin' the little girls! BB Navajo is putting strong genetics into our herd and we are very happy with these calves... lots of width, depth and muscling... along with great, easy-going personalities. Just what Murray Grey cattle are supposed to be!
Charity was born on a nice spring-like day. Both Hope and Charity are doing well. Hope is a great momma!
Tatiana had to give us a fright. Jewels was born during a storm and Tatiana needed some help having her as Jewels was a large baby. We all got wet but Jewels and Tatiana are both doing well. Such a pretty girl!
Patticake surprised us with her little girl. Pebbles was found in the afternoon, all dried off, up running and playing. It's nice to have surprises like that. :)
Lana was up in the lot being watched since she gave us twins last year and it looked like she might do that again. The weather turned cold this week but Lizzy was born healthy and happy. She is very active and loves to run laps around her momma.
BB Navajo's calves from last year are growing well. Stormy was born 8/23/15 and Caramel was born 8/15/15.
Not Murray Greys but nurse calves. :) Dot is raising her own bull calf, George (11/15/15), as well as two Angus calves, Sis (10/9/15) and Norman (11/15/15). All are growing fast with good Guernsey milk! Sis is definitely a keeper. :)
Russell Ranch is located in beautiful NE Oklahoma, just a few miles from the Illinois river in Green Country. There are lovely rolling hills, lots of wonderful lakes and rivers, and forests full of wildlife.
